What is Flexi Workflow

Flexible Workflow allows the process expert within the business to take ownership. The flexible workflow is a new workflow framework available in SAP S/4HANA in all versions of the system: on-premise, private cloud, public cloud.

Classical workflows before the introduction of Flexible Workflow with the release of S/4 HANA 1709, was built by SAP Project and Development Teams in GUI to match specific business requirements, which was handled by the IT department; who configure, model, and administrate the workflow.

Flexible Workflows allow business personnel to create, edit, and manage their respective teams via a Fiori workflow dashboard.

It includes following functionalities directly out of the box:

• Ability to create workflow for Intercompany Postings and Accruals
• Manage Teams and Responsibilities app allows for easy updates of approver/preparer relationships.
• Allows for live updates on Journal Entry approval status, and approval/rejection history
• Hierarchy of Workflow Triggers allowing for flexibility and multiple levels of approval
• Allows for processing done by certain teams or by everybody under a certain Role, for even more flexibility.
